Ubuntu: dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of jenkins

I am trying to configure the latest jenkins 2 version on ubuntu server. I downloaded the latest 2.9 version and when i am trying to install using dpkg, i am getting the following error.

Preparing to unpack jenkins_2.9_all.deb ...

Unpacking jenkins (2.9) ...

dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of jenkins:

jenkins depends on daemon; however:

Package daemon is not installed.
dpkg: error processing package jenkins (--install):

dependency problems - leaving unconfigured

How can i rectify this. Help much appreciated.

Execute the following command to install the dependent packages.

sudo apt-get -f install

It will install Jenkins without any error.
